York Region, one of Canada's largest regions, is seeking a skilled Systems Security Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the Public Works Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of the region's water and wastewater systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT and experience with Real Time Data Acquisition Systems and relational databases. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the security of operational Water/Wastewater Systems and networks, addressing issues related to the Water/Wastewater systems by providing operational technical support, researching and implementing new technologies related to the security of SCADA systems, gathering data for design and application workflow; recommending system prototypes, liaising with internal staff and external contractors for troubleshooting and support, maintaining current expertise by reviewing technical literature and attending seminars.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have a College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or equivalent, at least five (5) years' experience in project implementation analysis and support, experience with SQL Server and Security Tools, knowledge of trends in cyber-security and data management systems, and ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.

This is a permanent full-time position with 35 scheduled weekly hours and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. scheduled shifts. The closing date for applications is not specified, but interested candidates are encouraged to apply online.
