About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Process Engineer to join our Process Development team at Boston Scientific. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical leadership on the design, development, and manufacturing of interventional cardiology medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive complex or novel assignments requiring the development of innovative processes and process characterization methodologies for existing and new technologies.
  • Work independently to lead research, investigation, optimization, and execution of complex product and process-related projects.
  • Collaborate with various departments locally and globally to bring technical solutions to life.
  • Develop and implement new or refined technologies, products, materials, processes, equipment, and/or scientific methods.
  • Prepare reports, publish findings, and make presentations to communicate results.
  • Analyze and solve complex problems from engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Influence decisions around alternative engineering processes, products, or equipment.
  • Develop knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader or authority in an area of specialization.
  • Cultivate internal and external networks to complete tasks.
  • Lead project teams, determine goals and objectives, and mentor employees.
  • Interact cross-functionally and with internal and external customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline.
  • 9+ years of experience in engineering or related fields (or 7+ years with Master's Degree).
  • Experience training and mentoring engineers in problem-solving and process improvement tools.
  • Strong statistical background.
  • Knowledge and ability to teach Design of Experiments.
  • Experience performing multiple process characterizations across various technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence a highly technical group.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for multiple levels of an organization.
  • Experience engaging with clinicians to gain direction and product feedback.
  • Working knowledge of relevant medical device regulations and guidance.
  • Ability to work in an inclusive, collaborative, and fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design of catheters, dilators, needles, guidewires.
  • Braiding and coiling.
  • Induction and RF heating systems.
  • Polymer/Metal component design and manufacturing.
  • Fixture and tooling design.
  • Automated work cell and equipment design.
  • Mechanical mechanism design and analysis.
  • Electrical PCB and cable/harness design.
