About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our Out-Patient Surgery Unit at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.


Responsibilities:

  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and their families through application of foundational knowledge and judgment in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
  • Provide perioperative patient care in the preoperative and postoperative phases of the patient's surgical experience.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.


Requirements:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Graduate of a recognized College program or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of two years' recent acute surgical experience within the past three years
  • Current BLS certification
  • Excellent assessment skills, including medication administration and IV management
  • Ability to adapt and work within a constantly changing environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing/continuous professional development


What We Offer:

The hospital offers a competitive salary range of $37.82 - $38.20 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including pension and excellent performance and attendance records.
