This position is open to those who have or will graduate with a Baccalaureate of Nursing within the 12 months prior to commencement and do not already hold a full-time or part-time position with AHS.

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). The program is intended for new nursing graduates and requires individuals to work under the guidance of a healthcare team member.

This is a supernumerary position until the nurse is ready to independently assume the full scope of RN practice or up to 3 months. You will receive a competitive rate of pay and an additional Fort McMurray Allowance, currently at an annual maximum of $12,480.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide various nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well-being.

You will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.

The role involves leadership in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with CRNA and current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider certification are mandatory.

Additionally, completion of CRNA Medication Management courses (Chapters 1-4) and NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification is required if you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current CRNA/CRPNA registration, including temporary permits, and graduation from an approved school of nursing within the last 12 months are also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

As specified.

Salary Information:

Competitive hourly rate of pay, supplemented by the Fort McMurray Allowance ($12,480 annually), payable on an hourly basis for all paid hours.
