Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of best-in-class software and financial tools. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects across the entire stack, shape our future products, processes, and infrastructure, and play a critical role in driving our continued success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our small engineering team to build mission-critical tools for course creators.
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Participate in planning, organizing, and executing entire projects end-to-end, from idea to launch, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help build the foundation for Elective's engineering standards, tooling, and processes, ensuring we achieve our goal of being a highly functioning team.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional software experience building full-stack web applications.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks, such as React and Vue.
  • Experience with relational databases and comfortable writing raw SQL.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, such as Vitest and Jest.
  • Experience with API Design, such as REST and RPC.
Preferred Skills
  • Docker (or similar) for containerization and experience managing containerized applications.
  • Digital Ocean or similar cloud infrastructure providers.
  • CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.
