Printed Circuit Board Assembly Optimization Specialist

Blackline Safety is a leading provider of innovative safety solutions, and we are seeking a skilled Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and optimization of PCBA manufacturing processes.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in PCBA processes, equipment, and technologies. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and improve manufacturing processes, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate on new product introductions. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and experience with NPI processes and DFM principles.
Key Responsibilities- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize PCBA manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. Identify areas for improvement in workflow, equipment, and procedures to enhance overall productivity.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to PCBA processes, equipment, and materials. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address and mitigate any disruptions in the manufacturing process.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Work closely with the engineering team during the introduction of new PCBA products. Provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM) to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
- Process Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation of PCBA processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Train production staff on new or updated processes and procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain quality standards for PCBA processes. Implement testing and inspection protocols to ensure the reliability and functionality of PCBA products.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Professional designation, such as P.Eng, would be regarded as an asset.
- Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in PCBA process engineering or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of PCBA processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for PCBA manufacturing.
