At Payments Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Architect to join our team.

Overview

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud architectures leveraging infrastructure-as-code and robust disaster recovery practices.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is part of our efforts to enhance our cloud infrastructure and support the delivery of innovative payment solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing secure cloud solutions that meet business requirements and industry standards;
  • Developing automation scripts to streamline infrastructure tasks using programming languages such as Python and Bash;
  • Enhancing monitoring and performance metrics to ensure optimal system operation;
  • Migrating on-premises systems to the cloud and ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure;
  • Partnering with development and security teams to ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with organizational goals;
  • Providing infrastructure-related support to various stakeholders and contributing to documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A post-secondary education in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field;
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure services, software development, or a related field;
  • Experience in producing concise and detailed technical documentation;
  • Knowledge and production experience in designing, deploying, and administering GCP (Azure or AWS considered) cloud applications;
  • Experience designing and enforcing disaster recovery plans and business continuity contingencies;
  • Experience working with configuration management tools such as Terraform;
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization;
  • Knowledge and experience with CI/CD, DevOps principles, and workflow automation;
  • Government of Canada Level II Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain.
