Airport Security Officer Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Access Control Officer to join our team at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. As an Airport Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff, and airport facilities.

About the Job

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will have experience in access control, security protocols, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and verify Restricted Area Identity Cards (RAICs) to ensure only authorized access to sensitive areas;
  • Patrol terminal buildings and gates to prevent unauthorized entry or re-entry;
  • Respond to security breaches and incidents, and provide assistance to law enforcement agencies as required;
  • Provide exceptional customer service to passengers and staff, including general information and directions;
  • Carry and operate portable radios to communicate with colleagues and airport operations teams;
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the site supervisor or manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent education;
  • Eligible to work in Canada;
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office;
  • Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Possession of a valid Security license and Basic First Aid certification;
  • Possession of a valid RAIC is an asset;
