Job Summary:
McLean Hospital, a leading psychiatric hospital, seeks a skilled Community Residence Counselor to provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work under the direction of the Program Manager to establish relationships with patients, provide individual and group counseling, and intervene in complex situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care through group and individual counseling in accordance with current treatment plans.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and staff.
- Participate in leading and co-leading patient groups, and provide community activities as needed.
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding patient milieu and therapeutic environment.
- Supervise and direct patients as needed, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a mental health setting, preferably in a community residence or therapeutic milieu.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to establish trust with patients and families.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions, with ability to apply in a community residence setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
