Job Title: Co-op Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Engineer to join our team at Huawei Technologies Canada Co., Ltd. As a Co-op Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of software development projects, including compilers, language runtimes, and system-level optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Software Development: Design, develop, and test software to satisfy business requirements in a variety of products, including compilers, language runtimes, and system-level optimization.
  • Analysis and Optimization: Analyze and optimize software system performance to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in scrums and project planning to ensure effective team collaboration and communication.
  • Technology Adoption: Learn and adopt new technologies, research industry trends, and present findings to the team.

Requirements:

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a university and registered with the school's co-op program.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, C, or Java.
  • System Design: Solid grasp of fundamental concepts related to system design, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
  • Development Environment: Experience working in a Linux or Unix-like development environment, with proficiency in a Unix shell.
  • Discipline: Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
