Job Summary

NorQuest College is seeking an Ability Management Specialist to join our Talent Operations team. This role plays a key part in developing and implementing an Ability Management program that supports equitable and inclusive experiences for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an internal Ability Management program that aligns with the college's commitments to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Ability Management processes and develop solutions as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on legislation, trends, and emerging practices in Ability Management and employee wellness.
  • Develop and track reports, metrics, and trends to measure programs against stated objectives.
  • Communicate Ability Management trends and observations to relevant leadership groups.
  • Develop and provide training and education to People leaders and Talent Operations team members on Ability Management.
  • Partner with the Manager, Talent Operations to monitor and manage service delivery of external vendors.

Case Management and Support

  • Collaborate with Talent Operations team members to support Ability Management processes.
  • Provide guidance to People leaders and facilitate return to work meetings.
  • Respond to Ability Management inquiries and advise on topics ranging from simple processes to complex legislative interpretations.
  • Provide specialized support and guidance to employees who are ill or injured.
  • Input Ability Management data into relevant systems.
  • Analyze complex claims and liaise with third parties as needed.

Support Employee Wellness Programs

  • Support and promote employee wellness programs.
  • Review and make recommendations for employee wellness program adjustments or enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related program required.
  • Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Return to Work Coordinator (CRTWC), or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certifications desired.
  • Minimum 5 years in an Ability Management role.
  • Experience working within a post-secondary or public organization preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs and monitor and adjust for continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of all relevant legislation associated with Ability Management.

What We Offer

NorQuest College offers a competitive salary range of $87,095 - $108,899, depending on education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs. We also offer flexible work options and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
