Job Description

B.S Sandhu Trucking Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials over long distances.
  • Load and unload goods, and ensure their safety and security during transportation.
  • Operate and maintain the vehicle, including inspecting tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment.
  • Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, using computer equipment and GPS devices.
  • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Coach colleagues on new methods and work techniques, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism in customer service.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs, and complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance, including performing brake adjustments and preventive maintenance.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A valid driver's license (Class 1 or A).
  • Experience in long-haul trucking, with a strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A high level of physical fitness, with the ability to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
