We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit team at Trillium Health Partners. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients who require cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair/replacements, and dissection repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized patient care to critically ill patients in the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Currently enrolled and have already commenced a recognized Critical Care Certificate Program
- BCLS required
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire
- Current Coronary Care Level 1 and 2 Certificate Required
- Recent experience and exposure in Intensive Care nursing preferred
- Advanced physical assessment skills
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and effectively in order to prioritize needs in emergency situations
- Highly effective decision making, problem solving and organizational skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong leadership & assessment skills
- History of ongoing professional development and be a self-directed learner; demonstrated by evidence of continuous learning, required
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Experienced in patient education and sharing knowledge of expected outcomes and care
- Positive attendance and work record essential
