About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Developer to join our team at Sagen. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of Sagen's modernization strategy and implementation.
  • Deliver software development projects according to scope, schedule, quality, performance, and scalability expectations.
  • Design and develop brand-new applications/microservices as well as enhance/re-architecture existing components.
  • Participate in all stages of the SDLC within a Scaled Agile environment.
  • Reverse engineer existing applications, supporting their re-design and modernization.
  • Enhance existing components to satisfy new performance and scalability requirements.
  • Participate in secure development practices for all new development and in security remediation projects for legacy code as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of science degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally building large scale systems.
  • Cross functional knowledge and the drive to dive into the details of how each business unit works.
  • Experience building applications with web, mobile, or enterprise technology stack.
  • 2+ years of excellent skills in Java, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and strong skills in querying, SQL scripting with Oracle database.
  • Ability to transform business requirements into technical tasks, implement them, and document the solutions.
  • Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures and how to best apply them to build optimal software solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills enabling the exchange of complex information with a non-technical audience.
  • Scrum Master certified.
  • Hands on experience with front end technologies including HTML, CSS, Angular, Node, NPM, Typescript, Bootstrap frameworks.
  • Hands on experience with Python or R language and data modelling.
  • Hands on experience with NoSQL databases.
