Job Title: District School Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team at School District No. 50 (Haida Gwaii). As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psych-educational assessments for K-12 students to identify learning needs and develop strategies for support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in school psychology and Indigenous education to inform your work.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives to promote student well-being and academic success.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in School Psychology or equivalent.
  • BC College of Teachers certification.
  • Membership in the BC College of Psychologists.
  • Training and experience in providing psych-educational assessments for K-12 students.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous education and experience working with Indigenous students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary range: $65,971 - $113,321 per annum.
  • Remote and rural allowance: $3,035 per annum.
  • Travel allowance: $1,136 per annum.
