About the Opportunity

The Nutrition and Food Services team at Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Food Service Worker to join our team. As a Food Service Worker, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by preparing and serving meals and supplies to patients, residents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve patient meals and supplies
  • Clean and sanitize patient trays, equipment, and work areas
  • Support safe food handling procedures and provide overall service excellence
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental and organizational goals

Requirements:

  • Grade 12/GED or equivalent
  • Demonstrated competency in English and basic Math
  • Restaurant experience is considered an asset
  • Customer Service Skills considered an asset
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and transferring equipment
  • Special footwear may be required for some food service areas

Compensation and Benefits:

$20.02 Hourly
