Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Power Engineer 3rd Class to join the Power Plant team at Vancouver General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment associated with steam distribution, steam condensate, hot water heating, heating ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory codes, Worksafe BC regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the VGH Energy Centre team as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Certificate of competency as a 3rd Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of BC.
- Four years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Organizational and time management skills.
Working Conditions
The hours of work, including days off and work area, may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
