About the Role

GQ Technology Trading Inc. is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation and Repair: Install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware.
  • System Testing and Troubleshooting: Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults, analyze test results, and adjust or repair switching systems, networks, and associated equipment and software.
  • Customer Service: Complete and maintain test and service reports, determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble, and initiate the dispatch of appropriate repair personnel.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets, repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in telecommunications or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of telephone systems, trunking systems, computerized testing systems, and telecommunications systems.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with amplifiers, converters, and splitters.
  • Area of Specialization: Telephone installation and repair, switch network installation and repair, telecommunications service testing, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, attention to detail, and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, initiative, organized, reliability, team player, and dependability.
