Job Summary

Northumberland Hills Hospital is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Examination Technician, you will be responsible for performing various ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a Director of Diagnostic Imaging. This is a temporary full-time position that may be eligible for a referral or relocation incentive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist with various interventional ultrasound procedures, including ultrasound-guided biopsies.
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation, responding to emergencies and critical situations within 30 minutes.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient workflow.

Requirements
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and good standing.
  • Membership in Sonography Canada.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven good attendance record and ability to maintain it.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and respond professionally in high-stress situations.

Assets
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Recent related EPIC experience or electronic documentation in a hospital setting.
  • Previous experience working with a Picture Archive Communication System (PACS), Hospital Information System (HIS), or Radiology Information System (RIS).

Successful applicants must provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check and complete the Health Care Worker Health review process, including an up-to-date immunization record, within the first 60 days of employment.
