Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to join our integrated team within the Montney operations for a key oil and gas client in Calgary. This contract role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of gas plant infrastructure. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with site operations and the Production Delivery Team to leverage engineering expertise, maximize facility performance, and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Operational Support: Provide engineering support to the gas plant operations, focusing on troubleshooting and optimizing the performance of gas processing equipment, including inlet separation, gas compression, amine sweetening, refrigeration systems, and vapour recovery units (VRUs).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with site operations teams to identify and implement improvements, addressing operational challenges and enhancing overall facility efficiency.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization. Develop and implement solutions to maximize production and minimize downtime.
  • HSE Compliance: Actively promote and uphold HSE standards within operations, ensuring that all activities are performed safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Project Involvement: Assist in the planning and execution of engineering projects aimed at facility upgrades, expansions, or modifications.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including reports, operational procedures, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:


  • Education: Recognized degree in Engineering from an accredited university, with a strong foundation in gas processing and facilities engineering principles.
  • Professional Membership: Active professional membership with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) or, at a minimum, active professional membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in facilities engineering, particularly within the oil and gas sector, with operational exposure to gas processing systems.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Proficient in engineering software and tools relevant to facilities optimization.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel occasionally to site locations for coordination and operational support.
