Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Homewood Health, Canada's leading service provider for medically focused, evidence-based treatment of mental health and addiction disorders.

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in delivering seamless financial services and programs to our clients and customers. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Data analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Participating in period-end close process, including journaling transactions into the system.
  • Analysis and preparation of financial statements and monthly departmental variance reports, including detailed salary analysis.
  • Month-end journals and account reconciliations.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and accounting expertise to cross-functional areas.
  • Assisting with the year-end external audit process, preparation of relevant working papers, responding to audit queries and information requests.
  • Continuous process improvement and workflow efficiencies across the finance department.
  • Participating in system improvements and/or new system implementation.
  • Supporting the annual budget process and all ancillary reporting.
  • Accurate & timely Ministry reporting, including quarterly MIS submissions, quarterly Ontario Health reports, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Supporting senior management with special projects and other financial analysis as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • TWO PLUS YEARS OF RELEVANT ACCOUNTING, DATA ANALYSIS AND FINANCIAL REPORTING EXPERIENCE, HEALTHCARE KNOWLEDGE IS AN ASSET.
  • ABILITY TO DEMONSTRATE SUPERIOR EXCEL SKILLS FOR ADVANCED DATA MANIPULATION AND ANALYSIS.
  • UNIVERSITY DEGREE OR COLLEGE DIPLOMA IN A RELATED FIELD.
  • CLOSURE TO COMPLETING AN ACCOUNTING DESIGNATION (CPA, CMA, ACCA ETC).
  • EXPERIENCE WITH EITHER AS400, MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 OR SAGE IS CONSIDERED AN ASSET.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to discuss observations of financial information with all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and implement the recommended course of action.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience.
