Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team at the Surrey Animal Centre. As a key member of our animal care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional animal care and attention to detail in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kennels, runs, and cat cages.
- Treat animals humanely, with compassion and concern, and transmit these values to others both on and off the job.
- Administer medications as specified by the animal health technologist or other authorized shelter staff.
- Collaborate with other shelter personnel to create a positive and harmonious atmosphere among staff and volunteers.
- Assist front office staff as needed with telephone reception, counter inquiries, animal surrenders, adoptions, and other related duties.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
- Demonstrable interest in all aspects of animal welfare.
- Knowledge of animal breeds, characteristics, and common diseases.
- Ability to work as a team player and demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills sufficient to deal effectively with front office routines.
- Excellent customer service skills.
