About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Family Ties Association. As a Physical Therapist, you will work closely with families who are accessing services through Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) as well as Blood Tribe Social Development's Aiyiikakimaop for Children Program.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide assessment, consultation, and collaborative strategies to families and support staff supporting a child living with a disability.
  2. Contribute to the development, implementation and progress of a tailored service plan that meets the expectations of the funder, agency, and family.
  3. Provide support to families in their natural environment, such as home or community setting through Assessments and Individualized Therapy.
  4. Recommend and coach families and support staff to implement and utilize adaptive equipment that will assist with daily living and facilitate independence.
  5. Provide group coaching and information sessions to the community.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelors of Science Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
  • Active registration and practice permit (in good standing) with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta is mandatory.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, an insured/reliable vehicle, and comfort travelling in-town/out-of-town to schools, in-home or community settings is necessary.
  • Experience in the Assessment and Treatment of Children and Youth with autism spectrum disorder, motor development conditions, developmental delays or other developmental disorders is considered an asset.
