Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Building Operator to join our Property Management team in Mississauga at a corporate office. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and life safety equipment. You'll work closely with the Property Manager and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that may impact the property's operation.

Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining central plant and localized heating, cooling, and ventilating equipment; developing a thorough understanding of BAS operation sequence and ability to perform initial troubleshooting when HVAC systems malfunction; responding to tenant service work orders as quickly and expertly as possible; performing required preventative maintenance tasks of equipment to ensure building systems are maintained at optimum efficiency; assisting in the establishment of required preventive maintenance tasks; and performing regular interaction and supervision of outside trades to ensure the completion of contracted repairs and services.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in building repairs/operations
  • Experience in the operation of Fire and Life Safety systems in a typical commercial building
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Building Environmental Systems Operator Certificate Class 1 & 2
  • Trade certifications and/or other equivalencies considered
  • Participation in an on-call rotation with other operators (approximately one weekend/month)
  • Experienced with computerized building management and control systems
  • Interpersonal skills demonstrating integrity and dedication to service excellence
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
