The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Mechanical Pipeline Engineer to contribute to our team at Equinox Engineering Ltd.

Key Skills:

  • Proven expertise in pipeline engineering, particularly in pipeline installation and associated facilities.
  • Extensive experience with pipeline system design and construction.
  • Ability to lead technical roles in establishing design specifications and procuring equipment and piping.
  • Strong teamwork and initiative skills.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Execution of pipeline engineering scope for assigned projects.
  • Pipeline alignment and crossing engineering drawing content and professional sealing of such drawings.
  • Review and approval of final pipeline routing analysis report.
  • Preparation and content of pipeline materials and equipment specifications.
  • Review of materials, equipment, and services technical bid submissions.
  • Review of pipeline hydraulic studies and related pipeline schematics.
  • Coordination of project pipeline engineering team and liaison with project pipeline drafting team.
  • Coordination of activities of pipeline group with other project disciplines.
  • Work with and mentor junior engineering and other technical staff in the pipeline discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with project plan and procedures.
  • Implement corporate quality and safety standards into the projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering work scope and cost estimations when required.

Education and Qualifications:

  • P. Eng. - Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4-10 years of pipeline design experience.
  • Work in the downstream oil and gas industry, particularly in Western Canada.
  • Familiarity with CSA Z662 and ASME B31.4 and 31.8 codes and related standards.
  • Experience with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations.
