We are seeking an experienced AI Research Scientist to join our Conversational AI Modeling and Learning (CAMEL) team at Amazon. As a key member of the team, you will leverage your technical expertise and experience to research and develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques for state-of-the-art context-aware conversational AI.
The ideal candidate will have a strong machine learning background, with hands-on experience in building Generative AI solutions with Large Language Models (LLMs). You will work on core LLM technologies, including Prompt Engineering and Optimization, Supervised Fine-Tuning, Learning from Human Feedback, Evaluation, and Self-Learning.
You will collaborate with other talented applied scientists and engineers to analyze, understand, and improve user experiences by leveraging Amazon's heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources. Your work will directly impact our customers in the form of novel products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques for context-aware conversational AI
- Work on core Large Language Model (LLM) technologies, including Prompt Engineering and Optimization, Supervised Fine-Tuning, Learning from Human Feedback, Evaluation, and Self-Learning
- Collaborate with the team to analyze, understand, and improve user experiences using Amazon's data sources and computing resources
- Deliver significant customer impact through innovative solutions and iteration based on user feedback and interactions
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
- Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, NumPy, SciPy, etc.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop and Spark.
- Experience in building speech recognition, machine translation, and natural language processing systems (e.g., commercial speech products or government speech projects).
