Job Title: General Duty Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented General Duty Technologist to join our team at Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

Job Summary:

The General Duty Technologist will be responsible for clinical analysis and reporting on patient samples according to established protocols. The successful candidate will also assist in general lab projects, maintain a safe environment, and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform clinical analysis and reporting on patient samples
  • Assist in general lab projects, such as SOPs and chemical inventories
  • Maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM)
  • Current membership with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a laboratory setting, with exposure to all hazards and dangers inherent in working in a laboratory. The position may also require working shifts, weekends, and holidays, as well as participating in standby and callback duty.
