Arts and Music Educator Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced arts and music educator to join our team at North Vancouver Recreation & Culture. As an arts instructor, you will be responsible for leading interactive music classes designed for infants, toddlers, and their caregivers. Your expertise in early childhood music education will enable you to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that fosters a love for music and supports the developmental needs of young children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and instruct developmentally appropriate music classes and dynamic lesson plans.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate singing, instrument play, movement, and other musical activities.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that fosters a love for music and supports the developmental needs of young children.
  • Encourage caregiver participation and provide guidance on how they can engage musically with their child.
  • Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of children with varying abilities and developmental stages.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and their caregivers in a group setting.
  • Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments, with a strong understanding of basic music theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
  • Patient, creative, and passionate about working with young children and their families.
