Job Summary

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facilities, including building maintenance, space planning, and management of utilities and costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in overall building and facility management, including renovation and project design and management.
  • Manage utility and infrastructure security, including requests for new services and changes to existing services.
  • Develop and adhere to budgets for daily operations, projects, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Oversee daily operations of all facilities-related contracted services.
  • Assist with overall program service delivery, including direct involvement in daily operations, budgeting, business plans, and staff leadership.
  • Develop and implement effective parking, office space design, planning tools, administrative directives, and guidelines.
  • Perform supervisory tasks for assigned team members, including planning and balancing workload, ensuring fair and consistent management, and mentoring and coaching staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with strategic partners to develop and actively participate in joint initiatives.
  • Act as primary organizational contact for vendors, contractors, and lessees.
Requirements
  • University degree in Business, Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline.
  • Seven years' progressive facilities management and space planning or interior design experience, including two years' supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a public sector environment with unionized and non-unionized employees is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class five (5) Operator's Licence is required.
  • Submission of a Criminal Record Check.
  • Ability to respond with limited notice.
  • Ability to travel inside and outside of the region when required.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours.
Working Conditions

This position is employed in a supervisory capacity and requires additional safety training in accordance with municipal procedures and directives.
