Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solid Waste Collection Operator to join our team at the City of Toronto. As a key member of our public works team, you will be responsible for operating a variety of collection vehicles and equipment to collect and transport waste and recyclables in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate collection vehicles and equipment to collect and transport waste and recyclables.
  • Perform daily pre-trip inspections and identify and report any vehicle or equipment malfunctions.
  • Load and unload waste and recyclables from collection vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of collection vehicles and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with the public and other team members.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the efficient operation of our collection services.
Requirements
  • Valid Province of Ontario Class "D" Driver's License with "Z" endorsement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
