We are seeking an experienced Technical Data Lead to join our cosmetic powders lab and drive the company's product pipeline and competitive positioning through cutting-edge research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directing Research and Adoption of Technologies: Cement leadership in powder cosmetics by researching and adopting new technologies, from ingredients to processing methods.
  • Identifying New Innovation Opportunities: Leverage consumer insights and market trends to pinpoint and plan new innovation opportunities.
  • Pioneering Formulas: Develop pioneering formulas through re-engineering benchmarks, reformulations, chassis development, and supplier collaborations.
  • Heading Disciplined Experimentation: Drive the creation of differentiated powder products through disciplined experimentation using Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Overseeing Concurrent Innovation Projects: Oversee concurrent innovation projects from formula design through commercialization.
  • Mentoring Scientists and Chemists: Build institutional knowledge by mentoring scientists and chemists on development best practices.
  • Providing Manufacturing Support: Ensure ongoing manufacturing support through scale-up guidelines and issue resolution.
  • Ensuring Formula Compliance: Guarantee formula compliance, safety, and alignment with quality standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain current industry awareness.
  • Actively contribute to meetings/calls.
  • Document formulas to specifications.
  • Review test data.
  • Assist with various R&I lab tasks.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc or MSc in Science, preferably Chemistry.
  • Extensive experience in cosmetic formulation, including powder R&D.
  • Leadership ability and a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and coaching skills.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
