Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at ADESA/OPENLANE Canada. As a key member of our mechanical services team, you will be responsible for assisting with vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring consistently high standards of technical efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre and post-sale inspections, including test drives, to ensure vehicles meet our high standards.
  • Perform general shop maintenance, including pulling up vehicles and test driving them for diagnosis of repairs required.
  • Deliver general maintenance services, including oil and fluid changes, tire changes, and general vehicle inspections.
  • Provide frame inspection services to ensure vehicle undercarriages are free from cracks, bends, or other damage.
  • Assist with provision of general repair services, including brake jobs, exhaust system jobs, front end alignments, ball joints, air conditioning, and maintenance of auction vehicles.
  • May assist with sourcing parts and providing quotes to customers.
  • May assist with completing work orders, including parts and labor entries.
Requirements
  • Education or certification as an Automotive Service Technician.
  • 1-3 years' experience in repair and service of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components on a variety of vehicles.
  • Position suitable for 2nd or 3rd year apprentice.
  • Valid driver's abstract.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to utilize a smartphone.
