Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As a key member of our distribution operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation of goods and ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of transport drivers and dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Develop and implement daily plans to optimize transportation routes and schedules.
- Ensure that all transportation operations are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Provide training and coaching to transport department staff as needed.
- Manage and maintain equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Prepare and coordinate driver schedules and routes.
- Perform administrative duties, including data entry and reporting.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse operations and other stakeholders to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years' experience in distribution operations and transportation.
- Ability to work independently and display strong initiative skills.
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
- Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven negotiating and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate others.
- Ability to deal effectively with all levels of management and customers.
- Class 1 license is an asset.
- Experience with computer systems in a Windows environment, including Excel and Outlook.
- Previous experience with SAP and TMS is considered an asset.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday night shift.
