About Our Team:

We are seeking a Recreation Therapy Worker | Bus Driver to join our interdisciplinary team at Coquihalla Gillis House in Merritt, BC. Our facility is designed to support clients' choices and provide the best quality of life possible.

Your Role:
As a Recreation Therapy Worker | Bus Driver, you will be responsible for implementing our established Recreation Therapy Program. Your duties include carrying out individual or group leisure/recreation therapy programs, organizing various activities such as arts, socio-cultural events, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises. You will also accompany residents on outings, ensuring they have everything they need for a memorable experience.

Merritt, known as the "Country Music Capital of Canada," boasts stunning natural landscapes, including the nearby Nicola Valley and the picturesque Nicola River. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore hiking trails, go fishing, or enjoy water sports at nearby lakes. Casual Employment Opportunities:
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between zero and 37.5 hours per week, with shifts available during days or evenings. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent part-time or full-time positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual on-call positions and lead to regular employment.
