Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for operating the facility, including mechanical and supporting systems, performing structured inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical equipment and other systems.

About the Role:

  • Perform work in accordance with established processes and practices
  • Comply with all internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, fire protection
  • Monitor assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, and other equipment system monitoring and inspection
  • Operate facility mechanical and other systems
  • Manage work order life cycle progressing the work from dispatched through to completion and records resolution data within service maintenance management database
  • Assist in implementing preventative maintenance program

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing
  • Experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditions systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems
  • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) & HVAC Systems
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
  • Mentoring skills required to support lower level technician's development

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation:

  • Power Engineer Certification required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution a strong asset
