Job Title: Structural Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Kiewit. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for temporary structures and construction methods.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods, including support of excavation systems, cofferdams, and heavy lift plans.
  • Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and/or demolition planning, and design waterfront structures such as wharves and marine cofferdams.
  • Perform and/or review calculations and design drawings, according to industry codes, standards, and client design criteria.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of design deliverables, and assist in identifying design risks and mitigating planning.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a Master's degree or greater in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Relevant engineering experience, with a strong understanding of soil-structure interaction, hydrostatics, vessel stability, and structural analysis.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within Canada.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
