The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Commercial Solar Sales Consultant to join our team. As a key player in expanding our commercial solar portfolio, you will engage with prospects, support the design of customized solar systems, overcome objections, and close sales. You will be part of a dynamic team committed to sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
  • Contribute to the growth of our commercial solar pipeline through networking, road shows, and other activities
  • Identify new customers through your network, telephone activity, and industry events
  • Respond to inbound commercial leads generated by our marketing activity
  • Manage relationships with prospects, guiding them through the complexities of commercial solar from initial discussions to successful installations
  • Work with our operations team to ensure a smooth installation process and provide exceptional customer service
  • Stay up-to-date with solar product specifications through manufacturer-led training
  • Champion our brand and services propositions at customer-facing events
  • Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities in the commercial solar sector
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Conduct presentations and site evaluations to assess customer needs and determine the best solar solution
  • Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and other sales materials
  • Manage customer communications and expectations throughout the sales process
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and customer interactions
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in commercial solar sales
  • Ability to close deals effectively
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers/senior stakeholders
  • Excellent telephone manner and in-person sales skills
  • Deep knowledge in solar products and ability to explain to prospects
  • Proficient in negotiation, both written and verbal
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while staying calm
  • Efficiently manage your sales pipeline
  • Work closely with the team and autonomously as needed
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, with a focus on commercial sales (solar energy solutions an asset)
  • General understanding of tax advantages revolving around the purchase of assets from a business standpoint (Capital Cost Allowance, Investment tax credits, and general business write-offs)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing deals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the solar energy industry and regulations
