We are seeking a highly skilled Histology-Pathology Technologist to join our team at Island Health. To be successful in this role, you will require:

• A Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
• Graduation from a recognized diploma program in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Completion of histology-pathology related courses within the last two years or one year of recent, related experience within the last six years in the histology-pathology section of the laboratory, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
• Current knowledge of histology-pathology laboratory testing, techniques, methods, and procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and government policies and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Conflict resolution, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage workload.
• Ability to operate related equipment, including computerized information systems.
• Ability to train and educate other employees and students.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
