About the Role

The Company

As a Manufacturing Systems Specialist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and improving our manufacturing processes and equipment. Your expertise in electrical and mechanical systems will help us reduce costs, improve sustainability, and increase productivity.

Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Evaluating existing manufacturing equipment and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Working closely with plant management and production personnel to resolve issues and improve equipment performance.
  • Collaborating with design engineering to develop equipment-based solutions for process and design issues.
  • Facilitating equipment installation projects and tracking progress beyond implementation.
  • Implementing and supporting Lean Manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering position.

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical or electro-mechanical systems, including PLC, electrical, mechanical, fluid power, welding, fabrication skills, HVAC.
  • Experience with implementing Industry 4.0 (MES tools); automating assembly processes; Jig & Fixture design; new product introduction; computerized maintenance management systems; developing preventative maintenance schedules; asset justification and budgeting.
  • Industrial engineering skills including work measurement, labor reporting, and plant layout.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • A Lean Six Sigma green belt certification is required.
