Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Fraser Health. In this role, you will be responsible for providing speech language pathology services in accordance with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC) standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan development, implementation, and evaluation of patient's communication, speech, and swallowing functional abilities.
  • Performs Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) procedures and analyzes patient's needs to establish an evidence-based intervention strategy.
  • Develops and implements interventions in accordance with established treatment guidelines and educates patients and caregivers regarding self-management and health promotion.
  • Evaluates and documents the effectiveness of interventions by assessing patient responses, evaluating changes in health status, and modifying the intervention strategy as needed.
  • Participates in maintaining seamless quality patient care by identifying referrals for speech language pathology services, screening for priority of intervention, and facilitating referrals to appropriate healthcare programs.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC).
  • Must hold CHSBC Certificate I: Videofluoroscopic Assessment & Management of Adult Swallowing Disorders.
  • Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and interprofessional care team members.
  • Knowledge of speech language pathology theory and practice within a patient-centered model of care.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
