About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Planning and Programming to lead and direct capital planning initiatives, including large-scale redevelopment projects, master planning, and programming engagements. The successful candidate will oversee the organization's space request process and assist the Facilities Operations portfolio with operational project planning and programming support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the corporate facilities master programming/planning, functional programming/planning, and space planning processes as part of the organization's redevelopment strategy.
  • Engage with key stakeholders in the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care's Health Capital Investment Branch to manage the capital project submissions process and negotiate final outcomes.
  • Support the Vice President, Redevelopment, with the development of Board of Directors, resources committee, and Osler redevelopment steering committee's capital project briefing notes and supporting documents.
  • Direct the furniture, fixtures, and equipment planning.
  • Manage product standardization activities to ensure adherence to policies and corporate directions.
  • Oversee the work of assigned senior project managers, project managers, and coordinators to ensure all associated project activities are coordinated and of acceptable quality.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in business and/or a health-related field, preferably with PMP certification. The ideal candidate will have five to ten years of healthcare management experience, with five years of healthcare-specific project management experience. A full understanding of and experience with the Ministry of Health capital planning process is essential.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated project control skills, including the development and monitoring of scope, budgets, and schedules. They will also have the ability to work under their own initiative, drive processes, and display energy and enthusiasm within the role. A broad knowledge of overall hospital structure, operating policies, and procedures is required, as well as proven abilities in human resource management, coaching, and facilitation of issue and change management.

The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to change, implement changes, and facilitate change management throughout the department and organization as needed. They will also have the ability to foster a positive atmosphere conducive to team building, collaboration, and shared learning.

A demonstrated ability to work with Auto-Cad and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project is essential.
