About the Role
As a Senior Splunk Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the RBC Security Information Event Management (SIEM) platform. You will work closely with other members of the Global Cyber Security teams to ensure that the security posture of RBC is maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Information Event Management
- Maintain the SIEM platform to ensure maximum reliability and reduce false positives.
- Create and tune SIEM rules to adjust the specifications of alerts and security incidents.
- Develops effective correlation rules using Splunk Enterprise Security.
- Reviews security context alerts and log sources to identify potential security threats.
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and manage multiple objectives and activities.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Education
- Bachelor of Science in a technology-related discipline or 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience
- 5 years of experience in a role dedicated to the configuration, maintenance, and administration of Splunk and Enterprise Security.
- Significant experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation and tool integration.
- Skills
- Proficiency in developing and optimizing Splunk queries, dashboards, and alerts.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Splunk in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Benefits and Salary
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $125,000 to $160,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as comprehensive benefits including bonuses, flexible work/life balance options, and professional development opportunities.
