Nurse Specialist for Surgical Care

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is a reputable healthcare provider seeking an experienced Nurse Specialist to join its Surgical Suite team. With a strong surgical program encompassing endoscopy, cataracts, general surgery, dental surgery, plastic surgery, and orthopaedic surgery, this role presents an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will work alongside a talented team of professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. This includes working shifts in the OR, endoscopy suite, pre-operative care, and post-operative care units.
To excel in this position, candidates must possess current certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario and Canadian Nurses Association Perioperative Certification or completion of a recognized Perioperative Course. Recent Operating Room experience is also required, along with current B.L.S. certification and preference given to those with A.C.L.S. certification. Experience beyond five years may be considered, especially if it includes PACU, Day Surgery, and Endoscopy experience, as well as Operating Room Nursing Association Membership and SurgiNet experience.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, ensuring positive working relationships within the team and contributing to a positive work-life balance. They must also be aware of the emotions and experiences of others while interacting with patients, families, and colleagues. Moreover, they must be able to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
As per the ONA collective agreement, the salary range for this position is $39.07 to $56.00 per hour. The ideal candidate must be available to work all shifts, including weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings, and night shifts, which are subject to change based on operational needs.
