Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Circuit Rider Trainer to join our team at the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for training First Nation Water Treatment Plant Operators in the operation and maintenance of their community's water and wastewater infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Training and Capacity Development: Provide onsite training and capacity development to First Nation Water Treatment Plant Operators, ensuring they have the necessary skills to operate and maintain their community's water and wastewater infrastructure.
  2. Training Coordination: Coordinate and schedule training sessions for First Nation Operators, ensuring that they receive the necessary education and training to meet their community's needs.
  3. Operator Support: Provide ongoing support to First Nation Operators, including responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Training Plan Development: Develop and implement training plans for First Nation Operators, ensuring that they meet the necessary standards and regulations.
  5. Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge and best practices with First Nation Operators, ensuring that they have access to the latest information and techniques.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the operations of a Class II Water Treatment Plant.
  2. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Class II Water Treatment & Water Distribution Operator licenses and Ontario Driver's License.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office database functions and maintenance programs, as well as experience with SCADA, GIS, and CMMS systems.
  4. Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  5. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel extensively throughout the Province of Ontario on a weekly basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. First Nations Background: Priority will be given to First Nations applicants who meet the mandatory requirements.
  2. Additional Experience: Experience working with First Nations communities and a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
