Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Instructing apprentices in the proper maintenance and repair of diesel equipment
- Troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized testing equipment to determine the extent of required repairs
- Ordering parts and maintaining inventory
- Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs
- Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and ensuring it meets manufacturers' specifications
- Attaching components and adjusting new farm equipment
- Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance tasks
- Repairing heavy trucks and servicing attachments and working tools
- Verifying and repairing emission control systems
- Assisting process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing
This is a physically demanding role that requires strong hand-eye coordination, the ability to handle heavy loads, and sound discrimination. The successful candidate must be able to stand for extended periods and work effectively as part of a team.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings plan.
