Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Instructing apprentices in the proper maintenance and repair of diesel equipment
  • Troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized testing equipment to determine the extent of required repairs
  • Ordering parts and maintaining inventory
  • Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs
  • Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and ensuring it meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Attaching components and adjusting new farm equipment
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance tasks
  • Repairing heavy trucks and servicing attachments and working tools
  • Verifying and repairing emission control systems
  • Assisting process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing

This is a physically demanding role that requires strong hand-eye coordination, the ability to handle heavy loads, and sound discrimination. The successful candidate must be able to stand for extended periods and work effectively as part of a team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings plan.
