We are seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team at BASF Canada Inc. in Windsor, ON.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and regulatory expertise to ensure occupational health, safety, environmental, and security compliance at the assigned location.
- Participate in the sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and best practices within the Coatings Business Group and the North American EHS Community.
- Work with departments to identify and address EHS issues, recommendations, and initiatives to ensure compliance to standards and foster a positive EHS culture.
- Assist with the implementation of corporate standardized EHS policies and procedures, including Safe Work Permits, Job Safety Analysis, Management of Change, Incident Investigation, Ergonomics, WHMIS, and HIRA-Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
- Participate in elements of management of change reviews consistent with the level of environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety support needed.
- Support emergency response activities through drills, critiques, training, and Emergency Response Team participation, as required.
- Conduct training and presentations on EHS topics.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and their related activities.
- Analyze EHS-related data and prepare statistics and reports.
- Diploma or degree in Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of EHS experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Technician (CRST) certification is an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to interact with provincial and federal regulatory agencies.
- Strong collaboration, leadership, teamwork, interpersonal relations, communications, customer focus, influencing, and impact skills.
