At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This is a critical role that will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on production equipment, including machinery and auxiliary systems. They will also be responsible for scheduling equipment downtime for maintenance, maintaining accurate records, and participating in operational meetings and root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain production equipment, auxiliary equipment, and building maintenance, including operator training on equipment set up and operation.
  • Perform general maintenance on production equipment, such as fluid bed dryers, film coaters, tablet presses, transfer pumps, vacuum systems, processing vessels, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Schedule equipment availability to perform preventative maintenance on time and maintain accurate records according to Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
  • Participate in operational meetings, Rapids, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and other required meetings.
  • Document applicable work activities performed within a CMMS program.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required.
  • Licensed to practice as an Industrial Millwright is required.
  • Certified Ontario Trades Person is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years industrial mechanic or equivalent maintenance experience, preferably in food, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • 1-3 years millwright experience is preferred.
  • Experience reading drawing and schematics is required.
  • Maximo CMMS program experience is preferred.
Working Conditions:

The position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand, and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.

Salary:

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
