About the Role:
As a Project Engineering Student at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL), you will be integrated into our Horizon Project Engineering team and will assist in the execution of multi-disciplinary capital projects. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience in engineering, project management, and field construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Engineering Deliverables: Develop detail engineering by in-house and 3rd party engineering contractors ensuring all engineering deliverables and contractual obligations are met.
- Participate in Project Activities: Participate in various internal project activities including HAZOPS, 3D model reviews, procurement activities, deliverables review process, ensuring that all required information for the contractor is adequate and timely.
- Assist Construction Group: Assist the construction group in the proper review and resolution of all engineering and technical issues that arise outside the approved engineering design.
- Database Development: Develop and organize databases.
- Maintenance of Project Engineering Tools: Maintain project engineering tools and templates (Word, Excel, Maximo, etc.).
- Field Walk Downs: Conduct field walk downs during construction and measure construction progress.
- Contract Formation and Management: Form and manage contracts to support construction.
Requirements:
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor Engineering or Master's Degree Program. All Engineering disciplines welcome.
- Skills: Good knowledge of the basics of Excel and analytical skills.
- Knowledge: Good understanding of pressure vessels, pressure piping & valves.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and positive aptitude.
- Pre-Employment Test: A pre-employment drug and alcohol test must successfully be completed.
