Job Title: 1:1 Support Coach

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Various locations in the community

Salary: $18.22/hour

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., 27.5 hours/week for a one-year term

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate 1:1 Support Coach to join our team. As a 1:1 Support Coach, you will work closely with a female participant in her forties, providing support and assistance with daily living activities, socialization, and community integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement social, leisure, recreation, and work programs in consultation with the supervisor
  • Provide personal care and support to the participant as required
  • Transport the participant to community functions and outings
  • Assist with meal preparation and snacks as per individual preferences/requirements
  • Encourage and facilitate peer interaction and socialization
  • Communicate effectively with the participant, supervisor, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Education in the human services field
  • Experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities
  • 7 core competencies as required by Community Services, at start date or within 3 months of employment
  • A vehicle in good, safe working order, a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and appropriate insurance
  • A criminal record check and vulnerable sector search completed within the past 3 months
Working Conditions:
  • Position requires work at various places and in varying conditions
  • Physical activity may be required, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and pushing people in wheelchairs
  • Strength to handle loads up to 50 lbs. may be required
