About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our operational departments, including mechanical shop, detail shop, lot operations, maintenance, inspections, and security/stock management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring profitability, efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic guidance and direction to employees in the operations departments, including hiring, training, coaching, assigning tasks, prioritizing workload, and monitoring work output for quality control and operational efficiency.
  • Financial and Operational Performance: Manage the financial and operational performance of operational departments, including identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing corporate initiatives.
  • Auction Day Operations: Ensure smooth and trouble-free operations on auction day, including staging vehicles, troubleshooting problems, and providing technical support when needed.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Maintain accurate production information and reporting in company systems, including VTrace, AMS, GDC, and respond to internal requests in a timely manner.
  • Talent Development: Foster a culture of growth and development, attracting, engaging, retaining, and growing great people at OPENLANE.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations and management.
  • Strong Business Acumen: Proven experience dealing with process & system development.
  • Qualifications: Qualified to operate a motor vehicle & possess a valid driver's license.

Bonus Points:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Experience in the auction or automotive industry.
  • Google Suite experience.
  • Bilingualism (English/French).
